Clive Dunn was born on 9th January 1920 in London; his cousin was Gretchen Franklin who played Ethel skinner in Eastenders. He was a POW in Austria for 4 years during the Second World War. His most famous role was that of Corporal Jones on the BBC series "Dad's Army" (1968). His character in "Dad's Army”, Corporal Jones was based on a real life character. He also had a Number One hit with ‘Grandad ’. It topped the British charts in January of 1971 and was used in his TV show of the same name. It remained in the charts for a full 27 weeks. In 1975 he was awarded an O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to drama. Clive had large boots to fill in this panto, as he was a replacement for Ryan. The early days of the panto were quite subdued although by the end he did an admirable job.

Wyn Calvin As a Pantomime Dame he is considered one of this country’s Finest, he plays the Dame in a very masculine yet traditional way and has many admirers. A complete performer as a Dame, he plays the role in a brash, extremely loud fashion, often dressed in red boots, red nose and a red dress. His style is said to be in the tradition of George Robey and Tommy Trinder.
